Come play with i3Detroit's welders! This evening will cover the basics of arc welding, including:
Choosing a workspace
Choosing a welder
Materials you can weld this way
Goggles, gloves, and clothing
Basic welding technique
Class Safety
Welders should wear work or shop clothes without openings or gaps to
prevent arc rays from contacting the skin. Those working close to arc
welding should also wear protective clothing. Clothing should always
be kept dry, including gloves. Cloths should consist of 100% cotton.
Some of the welding will produce strong IR/UV rays which will cause
nasty sun burns. You've been warned.
Spots are very limited for this class, please sign up now if you're interested, and please relinquish your seat if you learn that you're unable to attend.
We have helmets but only a few. REQUIRED FOR CLASS PARTICIPATION!!!
